(LONDON)— Three new trustees have joined the Board of GiveOut, the new UK-based charity raising funds for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI) causes worldwide.
The new trustees are: public policy and corporate communications expert Iain Anderson; queer African feminist and social justice activist Wanja Muguongo; and diversity, human resources and trans-inclusion specialist Rachel Reese.

Iain Anderson (@iain_w_anderson) has over 25 years’ experience in integrated communications, global political risk and public policy. He is a co-founder and Executive Chairman at Cicero Group (www.cicero-group.com) and focuses on public policy and corporate communications strategy supporting many global FTSE and Fortune 500 blue chip organisations. He is the former Chairman of the Association of Professional Political Consultants and of the CIPR Public Affairs group. Iain is one of the Financial Times / OUTstanding Global 100 Executives and is a Stonewall Ambassador.
Wanja Muguongo is a queer African feminist and social justice activist. She is the founding Executive Director of UHAI - the East African Sexual Health and Rights Initiative (www.uhai-eashri.org). Since 2009, she has led UHAI's set up as Africa's first LGBTI and sex worker rights fund, in one of the world’s most legally and politically restrictive environments. Wanja has spent her 17-year career in human rights advocacy and community development in Eastern Africa’s civil society, and in India and Pakistan. She is a Senior Fellow with the Synergos Institute (2014-2018) and a Yale World Fellow (2012). She is also Board Chair of Akili Dada, a leadership development initiative for young East African women, is on the Steering Committee of Human Rights Funders Network (HRFN, formerly IHRFG), and is a Board member of the Africa Philanthropy Network (APN) and of the East African Philanthropy Network (EAPN).
Rachel Reese (@Glo_Butterflies) is a diversity, trans-inclusion and human resources expert. She started her early career within the defence industry as an avionics software engineer, later moving into human resources. After 16 years working in legal education, Rachel left her role as Production Director at the University of Law to pursue a career in diversity. She is the founder of Global Butterflies (www.globalbutterflies.com), a consultancy that helps firms develop trans-inclusive work environments. Rachel is Vice Chair of the Law Society’s LGBT Lawyers Division Committee and works alongside organisations such as The Solicitors Regulation Authority. She is also on the Committee of InterComms and an Ambassador for Aspiring Solicitors.
GiveOut (@GiveOut_Org, giveout.org) is a new UK-based charity raising funds for LGBTQI causes worldwide. The organisation will enable individual donors to support a broad portfolio of activist-led country, regional and international organisations through a single platform.
