Lenny Emson (he/him)
Lenny Emson is a Ukrainian born LGBTQI human rights activist with about 20 years of experience in LGBTQI rights. He went all the way from a grassroots activist to an international human rights defender.
Proud Ukrainian, Lenny was leading the largest pride organization in the region, KyivPride, through post-COVID and later in the midst of the russian invasion supporting a massive humanitarian aid program for LGBTQI community in Ukraine. As a founder of Pride in UA NGO that works in Kyiv, Ukraine, Lenny supports local activists’ efforts to continue the fight for LGBTQI community amidst war.
IraQueer
IraQueer are Iraq’s first and leading LGBTQI organisation, who undertake education, advocacy, and provide life-saving services such as safe houses and support for asylum seekers escaping violence. They produce written and visual resources in Arabic, Kurdish, and English to raise awareness about issues of sexuality and gender identity as well as monitor the media to counter incorrect reports and identify attacks against the LGBTQI community.
