Join us in making African Pride Accelerated 2025 a reality. A powerful celebration of queer resistance, community, and joy in the face of adversity. Under the theme “Rooted in Resistance, Rising in Power,” this year’s Pride summit honors the lived realities, courage, and brilliance of LGBTIQ+ people in Nigeria, while standing in deep solidarity with queer siblings across Africa.

In a time of rising criminalization, stigma, and state-sanctioned violence, APA 2025 is a radical act of visibility. It is where we come together to reclaim our joy, affirm our identities, and boldly imagine a future where we are free, safe, and celebrated. Your donation will help us create a safe, vibrant, and unapologetically queer space filled with art, music, storytelling, strategy, and solidarity. A space where over 200 LGBTIQ+ voices can rise together, amplify each other, and remind the world: we are here, we are powerful, and we are not backing down. Give today. Stand with us. Help us build a Pride that reflects the future we deserve.

About APA

African Pride Accelerated (APA) is an annual Pride summit founded by Women’s Health and Equal Rights Initiative (WHER) in Nigeria in 2021. It is a bold, affirming, and strategic gathering designed to center the lived experiences, cultural power, and collective resistance of LGBTIQ+ people across Nigeria. In a hostile context marked by shrinking civic space, stigma, criminalization, and the intensifying anti-rights movement, APA has become a lifeline, a space for healing, resistance, and visibility. This year’s summit will take place from 10–14 September 2025, convening over 200 queer individuals, activists, artists, and human rights defenders from across Nigeria while opening our arms in solidarity to queer siblings across Africa under the theme:

“Rooted in Resistance, Rising in Power.”
