Tell us about yourself.
Hi, I’m Tina, a member of the GiveOut Germany Steering Committee. I live in Berlin and work as an organisational consultant and executive coach, after many years leading teams in both global companies and purpose-driven organisations.
Why is it important for supporters in Germany to have a dedicated mechanism like GiveOut that enables them to support LGBTQI rights globally?
For me, it’s about making global solidarity easy and effective. There are so many incredible LGBTQI organisations around the world doing vital work, but it can be difficult to know where your support is needed most. GiveOut does the hard work of identifying trusted partners and getting funding to where it can have the greatest impact, so supporters in Germany can give with confidence.
Why did you choose to join the GiveOut Steering Committee, and what does being part of it mean to you?
I joined because I believe in GiveOut’s mission and I want to contribute to making a real difference. My hope is that the time I invest will help us build a large support network here in Germany — one that translates into meaningful donations and meaningful change worldwide.
What drives your personal commitment to LGBTQI rights?
I’ve been fortunate to build my life and career in places where I can be myself. I know that’s not the reality for millions of LGBTQI people around the world. I believe all of us in positions of privilege have an obligation to help make a difference throughout the world. That sense of responsibility is what makes me feel passionate about supporting the community globally.
What would you say to someone who is thinking about getting involved?
I’d say that meaningful change is built one person at a time. When enough people each choose to do one small thing, those actions add up to something far bigger than any of us could achieve alone. Whether that’s making a monthly donation through the GiveOut Germany Giving Circle, introducing GiveOut to your network, or sharing our mission with others, every contribution helps strengthen the global movement for LGBTQI rights. Together, we can build a community in Germany that has a real impact around the world.
